Fall 2017 Season Has Concluded It was an up and down season for the Colonials. Overall, the results on paper didn't reward the effort or determination put forth by the team. A mid-season injury to our captain and starting center midfielder, as well as to a senior defender, forced a few lineup changes, but our young players, including 9 freshmen, all stepped up and contributed major minutes. In 9 games played, we scored 12 goals, and only conceded 7, but a few too many ties early in the season dimmed our playoff hopes for this season. The spring will give us a chance to further develop the younger players, as half our junior class is going abroad next semester and our seniors are preparing for life after college. Next Up: Winter off season!
Info about the team: The GW Women's Club Soccer team was founded in 2001 and since then we have grown into a fun and competitive team. We compete in a league during the fall against other schools in the area. For the past 5 years we have qualified for regionals and will be going again this year! During the fall we have practice 2-3 times during the week (two outdoor and sometimes one indoor) and games on the weekend. While we are a competitive we also like to have fun and do things as a team!
